Cynthie Cuno often does tempo runs with the cheetahs at Serengeti National Park. She has completed five Ironman Triathlons, but looks forward to climbing Mt. Everest one day. She is most passionate about French fries, the Blues, the perfect pint of stout, The Twilight Zone and grilled cheese sandwiches. She is disgusted by stupid narcissistic people and easily amused by witty intelligent people.
Cynthie is training for Ironman Coeur d'Alene, but doesn't feel like she needs to make a big production out of it, since this is her sixth Ironman. In her spare time, she jumps out of planes and over centuries of socio-economic oppression by earning her M.A. (and eventually PhD) in English. She is also redefining the boundaries of "the canon" by working on the next great American novel.
At some point Cynthie will also cycle across America, but for now, is excited about participating in the Furnace Creek 508 ultra-cycling race with fellow teammates, Christina Deronde, Kelly Walsh and Lisa Gillmann. Occasionally she escapes this American life by wandering in other countries, solving equations and driving Ray Barrios to some of his races.
